Job hunting is kinda dehumanizing

I wrote this not just for myself but for everyone currently job hunting. For the people also amid the process thinking, hey, this really sucks, I think this should be better. Because we’re all probably asking ourselves the same questions: am I losing my mind? Does this make any sense?

Take solace, friend; I’m there with you; this whole thing is pretty damn dehumanizing. Perhaps I’m being dramatic, but we’re talking about what determines that you’re housed and have health care in a capitalistic society.

So, I’ve needed to look for work for two months now and it’s looking like I may spend the entirety of the summer job less — The longest I’ve been without work in my decades of life, maybe I’m freaking out.

Some people have been looking for work longer and much longer than me. Perhaps it’s too soon to say this whole thing is dehumanizing. I’ll proceed to share observations I’ve made a long the way to better explain myself.

Observation #1, after filing out 150 applications…actually hold on.
